25 Years of Gudang Gambar with Wenas Heriyanto

This exhibition is a testament to Gudang Gambar Gallery's enduring commitment to nurturing the vibrant tapestry of Indonesian art. Since its inception in 1999, Gudang Gambar has been more than a mere exhibition space; it has blossomed into a sanctuary for artistic souls, a crucible for creative sparks, and a bridge connecting artists and art lovers. Amidst the urban clamor, Gudang Gambar has become an oasis for seekers of inspiration, witnessing the evolution of countless artistic journeys, including that of Wenas.

In 2009, Wenas joined Gudang Gambar, marking the beginning of a remarkable collaboration. Since then, he has become an integral part of the gallery's artistic family, growing alongside its spirit, and contributing his unique voice to the vibrant symphony of creativity. Wenas himself speaks of the profound impact of support and inspiration from Pak Tim Jahja as the gallery's founder and Ramdhan Djuhara as managing partner. "It's like a supplement. Their words give me a boost when I feel stuck." He said. Their encouragement goes beyond words; they have empowered Wenas with artistic knowledge, guiding him from a self-taught artist to one enriched by shared experiences and wisdom.­

For 15 years, Gudang Gambar has been a space for Wenas to process emotions and discover his artistic soul. Wenas' decorative impressionist paintings have matured, evident in the dynamic, free brushstrokes that create a harmonious effect in the soft lines and delightful characters from Wenas' palette. Each stroke from his palette on the canvas has colored the walls of Gudang Gambar, telling the story of an artist who tirelessly explores his soul and the world, as well as the notes of a close friendship between Gudang Gambar and Wenas.
