An artist from Bali who is diligent, patient and enjoyable in his work. For him, working is not just about seeking validation and survival, but also about worship.
Born in July 27th, 1983. Gede Putrayasa has been focusing on polishing his painting skills since his adolescence. His decorative paintings implicitly depict traditional Balinese values of harmonizing oneself with the universe on every aspect of life. In conceiving harmonious beauty, details cannot be abandoned. This adage is well kept by Gede Putrayasa through his Gustav Klimt-inspired techniques, with Balinese traditional values still shining through its colours. His details in flora and fauna figures not only eye-pleasing but also reflective medium of peace and serenity.
Living and growing up in an artistic environment led me to able to understand and love the art of painting. Painting in my opinion is not only related to making a living but also as worship. Art in my opinion should pay attention to detail. The details I think are important because it fits my identity as a Balinese who lives to beautify in the universe even at the slightest thing. It's configured in all of my works.
